Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with, thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV)
Today, our world is suffering from worry and anxiety. Medical science says that some of the diseases are the results of worry and stress. Sometimes stresses lead to the body sickness too. It's truth that when we have more load in our mind we cannot tolerate it.
I have also experienced stresses and anxiety in my life in the beginning of the semester in the college, but when I know the truth of this verse, it changed my Life. When I see the background of this verse, who wrote this verse, from where, and to whom this verse was written, I got surprised. Paul is the writer of this verse, and he was writing to the church of Philippians when he was in the prison bound with many negative voices and punishment. This time was one of the cruel historic empires in a planet named NERO who was ruling the nation. Through the prison, Paul was encouraging the church to be anxious for nothing. What a message to read!
I question myself where am I? I am in the bible college and still worried about many things. Paul says to be anxious for nothing. Nothing means Nothing. But Paul says lets all anxious be known to God through prayer, supplication, and thanksgiving, and then the peace of God will surpass all understanding and will guard my heart and mind through Christ Jesus. This verse came alive in me, and I confess myself I will be anxious for nothing with a smile.
Dear Friends, Do you think you couldn't even pray? Do you think that your situation is really messed up? But today, I want to encourage you give thanks to God and pray about it. Well, Mishael brother I am in college, and I couldn't show my faith and pray openly. I am in work, and it would be offended by some people if I prayed. Think about paul. He was in Prison under the authority of NERO. But still, he was encouraged to pray.
I want to ask the same question to you. Where are you now? You might be in school, college, hospital, home, workplace, or in your comfort zone. Are you able to thank God and pray for everything? Paul living in a Prison says rejoice. It would be unreal we living in our comfort zone and still being not grateful.
