In 2013, I had a great privilege to do homeless ministry with one of my nearest friend in Buffalo, and it was in winter time. For the reason, we bought brand new warm clothes and some foods for them. We started driving place to place where homeless people used to stay. We found them under bridge sleeping, market like tops, Walmart for the heat. In the midday, we visited downtown buffalo and saw this woman. For me, that day was the day of great revelation. She was searching cans and bottles in the garbage, and we asked her, "Excuse us, we are looking for some homeless people because we have some clothes and foods for them. Do you know where we can find them? Without looking at us she replied, here you will find many homeless, and I am also one of them.
As soon as she replied, many questions come in my mind, and I questioned God. Because that woman was pregnant, I didn’t just see one homeless, but an innocent baby inside her womb too. That whole day I question God, what sin did that innocent baby commit in her mother's womb to be homeless? What did that innocent baby did to be homeless?
I wasn't feeling peace. Before going to bed, I prayed for that situation and kept questioning God. I still remember and feel that moment that how God spoke in my heart with silent voice with love. In that voice, I heard that it was not that innocent baby's sin that made him/her homeless, but it was baby's mother's action yet to make that baby a homeless. He also told me, son through that day I was trying to give you the revelation that how through Adam's sin affect humankind. Humankind was sinner not because they commit sin, but they were born in Adam's sin. I am sinner not because of what I did, but the reality of who I was in. we were sinner not because we did sin, but because of Adam's disobedient. We sin because we were a sinner. Similarly, that baby was homeless not because he/she did wrong, but because his/her mother was homeless. I was born innocent but still a sinner. Why? It's Because of Adam's sin. Adam's sin was imputed to me. "Roman 5:12 clear it. Therefore, just as through one-man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men because all sinned" I was made sinner through first Adam's disobedient. But I also have good news, and that good news is there is the gift of Righteousness in Jesus. And that just cost Faith in him. This righteous is not based on me, but it's based on another man's obedience who is Jesus.
Dear friends, I want to encourage you. Once we were a sinner, but the moment when we put our faith in Jesus, we were made righteous. And never forget this, sinner commit sin but righteous do Right. You are Righteous in Jesus.
