1 Timothy 4:12 “Let no one despise your youth, but set the believers an example in the speech in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.”
A lot of people think that youths are just kids that are growing up and are not important. Older people sometimes look down on them. They don’t always want to listen to youths, but God has lots of great plans for our youths. He created each and every youth in a unique way. We should not judge them just because of their age. God loves everyone equally whether you are young or old. In the bible, it says that Paul tells timothy that he is a very important part of God’s kingdom and people should not look down on him because of his young age.
Being a youth means you have to set a good example for your church congregation. You should not go smoke or do a drug. That’s not staying faithful to God. As a youth, you must know your position in a church. You are a backbone of the church. The church is not complete without youths. You must set a good example for people, so they could see the great work of God through you. You must respect your elders and have self-discipline. You must know when to have fun and when to focus. You must know your surrounding and what kind of environment you are at during a church and have good behavior. The church is not a place to socialize with your friends when the sermon is going on. You can be socialized before or after the sermon, but take your special time out to praise and worship God especially on Sunday.
Youths sometimes get carried away (distracted) with this generation’s society and all the technology there is. You should not be wasting your time on all those tempting things; instead, God wants us to live a life that includes hope, courage, self-discipline, purpose, and love. Therefore, God will truly bless you abundantly. You will notice a huge difference in your life physically and spiritually. I hope this word of encouragement inspires you to work in the name of the Glory of God, and let his light shine upon you.
