Jan. 3rd- Turn your worries into prayers.
Written by Monu Shinchoury
“This is what the Lord says, He who made the earth, the Lord who formed it and established it- the Lord is his name: Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know” Jeremiah 33:2-3 (NIV).
I have a best friend whose name is Joyti. She is so sweet to me; she cares me. I call her when I am down and in need to hear encouragement. Even though she loves me and cares me. Sometimes she is unable to keep in touch with me, sometimes she doesn’t know what to say. However, Bible tells us that God who created everything. The powerful God who sustains everything answers us when we call him. Isaiah 59:1 says “Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save, nor his ear is too dull to hear”. Similarly, David reminds us in Psalms 145:18 that “The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth”.
Dear friends, God the Creator, who formed and established the earth, makes the promise that follows. Sometimes, our best friends or families are not available to hear us but God can. You can call him 24/7, and He is available for you. Surely, God can take care of all our needs. Surely, He will give us direction in our confusions. He promises us to tell us great and unsearchable things. His Words are firm and we can trust.
You might be thing thinking God can take care of our needs without asking. But when we ask, we acknowledging that He is the God and we cannot accomplish in our own strength. He loves when you call Him. He loves you and cares you. He says “Cast your care on me and I will sustain you” (Ps 55:22, 1 Peter 5:7). Call him through prayer. Turn your worries into prayer (Phil 4:6).
Dear Father in Heaven, help me to turn my worries into prayer. Guard my heart against putting trust in people or things of the world. Lead me to trust you and you alone. In Jesus name, I pray, Amen
