Success is something that I always desire and fight for. I am pretty sure, there is probably no one in this world that does not want to be a successful person. Indeed, everyone desires to be successful but let me tell you the truth that there are only a few that really know what does it mean to be a successful person.
Therefore, do you know what does it mean to be successful? How do you define success? If you have wrong ways to define success, then you might never get to taste the fruit of being a success. In Bible, being successful is being faithful. Are you being faithful in whatever God has given you in your life?
Think about Paul: in Acts16: 23, Paul and Silas is being thrown into prison. They did not do anything wrong. They did everything they can to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, but they were being thrown in the prison.
Now, think about Jesus. He was arrested (John 18) and crucified on the cross (Matt. 27). If you become real and think about Paul and Jesus as a real person not just a character of a fairy tale, you will know that the people of that time thought that Jesus was criminal. Once, People said that Jesus was of blasphemy of God (John 10).
My brothers and sisters, the world never see Jesus and Paul as a successful person while they were on the earth. But scriptures teach that Jesus was faithful to God just as Moses (Hebrew 3:2). Jesus was so faithful to God that he became obedient to God the Father. He even became obedient to the point of death (Phil. 2:8).
Dear friends, to be successful is to be faithful. Therefore, be faithful in your church as a member, be faithful in the home as son or daughter, be faithful in your school as a student, and be faithful in your works as an employer. Don’t let the world to describe your success. Let God take lead in life, and let his words define success for you. Be faithful in the Lord and his ways, and then you will taste the fruit of being a success.
In the end, (Revelation 2:10) the words of God call us to be faithful unto death, and He will give us the crown of life. Therefore, my brothers and sisters let us be faithful in the Lord.
